RECIPE: Nutty Buddy Smoothie

Tell your all buddies! (At least those whom you want to be healthier) This is a great way to start your day.  Maca powder and chia seeds are optional ingredients to take the health benefits of this delicious shake to the next level—but don’t be intimidated, you can make friends with those two superfoods another day.

Meet your new NUTTY BUDDY!

In a blender combine:

2-3 HEAPING Tbsp almond butter or Peanut Butter

1 cup almond milk or organic milk*

1/2 frozen banana (or 1/2 unfrozen banana and 4-5 ice cubes)

1 handful of organic spinach

3 dashes of cinnamon (more if you love cinnamon like I do)

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:

*alternately can do 1/2 cup filtered water and 1/2 cup milk, instead of 1 cup milk

1/2 inch cube of ginger root

1 Tbsp of honey or maple syrup –if you’re making it a dessert)

1 Tbsp chia seeds

1 tsp maca powder
