snack : a portion of food oftentimes smaller than that of a regular meal, that is generally eaten between meals.
Historically, my snacks consisted of a McFlurry and left over pizza, or a bagel with cream cheese and a piece of cake. And while, yes, these represented portions of food smaller than my regularly enormous meals and were eaten between my more massive meals, some might actually consider pizza and a McFlurry a meal in itself not a snack. A fatty, nutrient deficient one, but a meal, nonetheless.
Now that I’m soooo super duper informed and for some reason feel that I have the authority to impose what I think is good on to others, here are a few Healthy EASY snacks to keep the both the hunger beast and the thunder thigh at bay. These snacks are great for kids too!
1. Organic string cheese + apple (or 10 grapes or a pear)
2. handful of almonds (~10 not 30, and raw almonds are healthier than flavored, or course) + apple (or 10 grapes or a pear)
3. apple with almond butter
4. glass of almond milk
5 Carrots and Hummus
